I was asked by Piper Publishing to record the whole of The New Testament (King James Authorised version.) Not knowing how long the Bible was, I expected to be in studio for a few hours over one week; but because I was working on a stage play for Alan Ayckbourn up in Scarborough, it ended up taking the best part of three months!!

At the moment I’m in the National tour of ANNIE the musical as Daddy Warbucks (who I play with a heavy NY accent). One day last week I did the voice of an Italian chef for a PIZZA HUT ad, and an Einstein-type professor for IKEA; so I hope the audience didn’t notice if my American accent was a bit dodgy that night!! When I was on the BBC Radio Rep I always thought I was rubbish at accents, but like everything in life, it’s only practice.
